The Creative Tailor
 For this joke, you need a sewing kit and a little time alone with your victim's wardrobe. Don't fret if you lack the skills of a master seamstress or designer tailor, as long as you can thread a needle, tie a knot, and sew in a semi-straight line you'll do just fine. The end goal is to create an unseen barrier that will prevent your victim from getting their body part all the way through their article of clothing. Consider adding some stitching to the inside arm lining of your father's winter coat near the sleave's exit or sewing a sock up halfway between the toe and heal. Your victim will go to propel their arm through their jacket and run their hand right into the blockade you have designed. At first, they may try ramming their body part through the alteration, thinking to themselves the partition is perhaps some loose stitching. Even after they realize what is causing the problem, most people will get a chuckle out of your handiwork.
Here are a couple items I have discovered that will make the joke work better and prevent you from being kicked in the teeth by your victim:
- Make sure to match the color of the garment you are working on with the color of your sewing thread. This way they won't notice the extra stitches before they attempt to don the clothing article.
- If the clothing is expensive, whenever possible, try to sew the inside lining of the garment as you don't want to ruin it. If the cloth is torn or the stitching leaves marks, no one will be able to see them.
- Use large spacing between stitches so they can easily remove the thread.
Don't just limit yourself to your own family members or roommates' garments. You might want to secretly borrow and return desired clothing articles from your friend's closet or take a sowing kit with you the next time someone asks you to watch their house while they are out on vacation. The beauty of this gag, is your victim will most likely come upon your handy stitch-work weeks later and have no clue who could have perpetrated this bastardly crime.
