This school prank also falls under the category of sending anonymous packages but is specific to a certain type of contents so I thought the joke deserved its own section. When most people create a care package, they send items their friends and family want; however, with this prank you will put together a package full of grooming and cleansing products in an attempt to make them feel they may have hygiene problems. For about $5, you can put together a sampling of travel size soaps, toothpastes, nail clippers, and deodorant that will make your victim second guess their grooming habits.
In high school, the student body and overzealous parents organized “Secret Santas” for student athletes. The Secret Santas would leave goodies and care packages for the athletes before a big event or game, such as “good luck balloons” or a cup of jellybeans. The school administrators would call off the names, over the school’s loudspeakers, of any student lucky enough to receive a package during closing announcements. Although I didn’t sign up on anyone’s official Secret Santa list, I did leave care packages for a few football players. I would rush down to the office with a few of my friends to watch as they picked up and opened their packages only to be disappointed, a little confused, and perhaps even a little less self confident.
On several occasions, I had student friends who worked as pages or messengers during their free period just deliver care packages directly to my friends during the middle of class. There was nothing like seeing the expression on the victim’s face when they opened up a brown paper bag, with everyone staring at them, full of mouthwash, dental floss, toothpaste, and a toothbrush right in the middle of class. You should have seen their body language; they would slump down in their seat, how embarrassing!
Note: this could be used in any work environment where a coworker smells like shit because they don’t shower, use deodorant, or brush their teeth on a regular enough basis as opposed to confronting them face-to-face.
